Join us for Introduction to Weaving with Linda Hee.
Introduction to Weaving class is open to the public and available to nine students. There are six weekly sessions beginning on April 3, 2022.
Hawaiʻi Handweavers' Hui members receive a discounted class fee. If you are interested in becoming a member please click HERE.
There will be an additional $10 supply fee payable to the instructor on the first day of class which includes: 150 yards of rug warp, handouts and two sheets of graph paper.
This class is designed for new weavers who want to understand how to set up a loom.
Linda will introduce the parts of a loom explaining how they work, and she will demonstrate how to measure a warp and dress the loom for weaving a rag rug. Students will learn to use a variety of plain weave patterning techniques and draft a unique rug design of their own.
By the end of the class, participants will know the basics of weaving on a loom, and they will have a one-of-a-kind 2'x2' rag rug to take home.
