Join us for Maitrī Macramé with Jessica Araszewski.

Learn to create your very own macramé plant holder!

In this class we will go over a few basic knots that can be used for endless creations! Choose complementary colors to make your piece pop! Or stick with a classic white for a more sophisticated look! By the end of this class you will have a one of a kind plant holder and the skills to make many more functional pieces of art.

Macramé in its most basic form is a series of square knots and variations of hitches. Although evidence of this style of adornment dates back to Babylonian times, its current form was influenced and popularized by sailors in Victorian England who made vessel holders and hammocks.

There will be an additional supply fee of $25, for cord, S-hook, pot, beads and snacks, payable to the instructor on the day of class. All materials will be provided.

This class is open to any skill level.

What to Bring:

  • $25 supply fee
  • Paper and pencils for design drawing
  • Wear comfortable clothing
  • Feel free to bring a drink or snack although some will be provided!
  • If you have a pot in mind for your plant holder, max 12" diameter, you can bring that along or use one we provide.
