A beginner’s class on simple wire twisting to use for wearable art jewelry, dream catchers, wall hangings and more. Make an organic fantasy necklace and earrings with semiprecious stones, pearls, beads and Czech pressed glass leaves, gently twisted into a repeating branching vine pattern. Guaranteed beautiful and fun to make. Choose your necklace in class, wisteria or cherry blossom.

Jewelry kits include necklace and earring wires, chain ends, clasp, rose quartz for cherry blossom, lapis lazuli chips for wisteria, pearls, Czech pressed glass leaves, accent beads, reusable 3 inch table ruler, and earring holder hand sewn by Elaine.

There will be a $10 supply fee for jewelry kits payable to the instructor on the day of class. Beads are donated by artist Rene Iijima.

  • $10 supply fee
  • Beading pliers: Individual round nose pliers and wire flush cutters are recommended and available to purchase at The Bead Gallery, Bead IT and Ben Franklin. Only 5 tool kits will be shared in class.

Instructor Bio

Former secretary of the Bead Society of Hawaiʻi, Elaine Imoto loves beading as a journey for fun and fellowship.

After three years leading Second Saturday bead gatherings at the Louis Pohl gallery, Elaine is now donating her beaded wire vine creations to the DAC gift shop, and teaching classes in how to make them. Her legacy artwork will be on display at DAC, August 31 - September 9, 2022, in conjunction with the launch of the book, Courage Poured Into My Heart. Prior works have been shown at Bibelot Gallery in Kaimuki,  Pohl Gallery on Bethel Street, and at the Cedar Street Galleries Xmas miniatures show since 2015.
