Join us for Macramé Plant Hanger with Summer Escajeda & Jessica Araszewski.
Come mac around with us! Learn basic macramé while creating an adjustable, 2-3 foot plant hanger. Try adding beads and using multicolored rope. We’ll go over basic knots, draw our designs, and then make macramé. Use the pot we provide or bring one from home for a custom fit designed so you can easily remove the pot. Craft your very own one-of-a-kind plant hanger.
Macramé in its most basic form is a series of square knots and variations of hitches. Although evidence of this style of adornment dates back to Babylonian times, its current form was influenced and popularized by sailors in Victorian England who made vessel holders and hammocks.
There will be an additional supply fee of $25, for 100% cotton rope in natural and multicolored options, payable to the instructor on the day of class. All materials will be provided.
This class is open to any skill level.
