Join us for Weaving a Shawl or Scarves with Pat Steinhoff

Weave a unique gift for someone on the mainland or wearable art for yourself. Try weaving with wool, mohair, or color changing knitting yarns. Weave something beautiful using commercially available yarns, simple weaves, and your imagination, in time for the holiday season. Already have a project on your loom at home? Weave on a floor loom in our studio and learn from your classmates' projects as well as your own. Open studio will be available (when the studio is open and no class is scheduled) to ensure that everyone can weave and finish their projects in time.

Please plan to attend the Tuesday October 4,  6:30 – 8 pm General Meeting as Pat will be giving a talk on various types of shawls, mobius wraps, scarves and discuss appropriate yarns. She will have samples there. She is also available for individual consultation as needed. Participants will select, order, and purchase the yarn for their own project (online or from a local knitting shop) in time to bring it to the first weaving session. HHH General Meeting

All skill levels are welcome and help will be available for beginners. We will be warping the floor looms front to back in order to design the placement of stripes and accent yarns at the loom. More advanced weavers are welcome to warp back-to-front and do pattern weaves if they prefer.

There will be an additional supply fee of $10.00 payable to the instructor on the first day of class.

What to Bring

  • $10.00 supply fee
