We will begin with a slide presentation to introduce the fibers and weavings from different regions of the Philippines, with a special focus on pineapple and banana cloth.

The hands-on workshop will focus on special weaving techniques from the Ilocos region of the Philippines. The textiles are called binakul and have 3-dimensional-like patterns that create optical illusions. Basic knowledge of weaving is required.
