Suzie Liles is a life-long Oregonian who has four grown children and nine grandchildren. She loves traveling, whether it be in the tropics or the coolness of Iceland. She has been teaching at the Weavers’ School with Madelyn van der Hoogt for 30 years.

Suzie has an MFA in Fibers from the University of Oregon. She is a member of the Handweavers Guild of America and has written many articles for Handwoven Magazine. She is co-owner of Glimakra USA with her daughter Sarah Rambousek. In her “free time” she runs tours to Sweden and Egypt.

Juror Statement

I am excited to be the juror of this show. I lived in Alaska where I saw the majestic Aurora Borealis many times. I expect to see some wonderful use of colors that would portray the imagination brought forth by the thought of this exciting phenomenon. It will be delightful to see how color, structure and fiber techniques are utilized in this exhibit.
